South Mumbai is a fantastic place to live and Byculla is a burgeoning locality in the area. Several upcoming infrastructure projects are planned for the area and will be completed in the coming few years.
The State Government recently released vast sections of property on the eastern coast controlled by ports due to the city's expanding population and the need to bring it up to global standards. The Eastern Mumbai Waterfront's property investment potential will undoubtedly increase because of the decision to renovate and develop the area. Mumbai's eastern shoreline will soon have a world-class marina to compete with cities such as Singapore and New York.
Major projects like the Trans-harbor sea link, the Worli Link Bridge, etc., are under construction in this area. These massive projects call for the establishment of iconic common areas and recreational centers combined with multimodal transportation and tourism amenities. Because of the infrastructure expansion, the general development and way of life in the area will improve. The proposed project would improve connections, which would also benefit residential properties.
A 21.8 km long structural wonder, the trans-harbor sea link between Sewri and Nhava Sheva would ease congestion in the city's present and future traffic movements. In addition, South Mumbai citizens would need 20 minutes to go to the brand-new airport terminal in Panvel.
The MTHL is now being built at Sewri, on the east, and the projected coastal route at Worli, on the west, is connected by the 4.5-km raised Sewri-Worli link bridge. Two rails over bridges (RoB) at Sewri and yet another two-tier footbridge at Prabhadevi are part of the project. This last one spans both the Central and Western Railway lines. This planned infrastructure development will seamlessly connect Byculla to other parts of Mumbai, attracting more people to come and reside in Byculla.
The construction of Marine Drive 2.0, a 7-kilometer-long road that runs along the Bombay Trans-Harbour Link all along the eastern shoreline from Mazgaon Dock to Wadala, would improve connectivity and the quality of life for its people with beautiful vistas. The new Marine Drive, which will be about twice as long as the Queen's necklace in the west, would significantly improve Mumbaikars' ability to commute without incident.
The Mumbai Port Trust has planned a marina project in Mumbai to accommodate the large number of yachts that visit or reside. The development, which will be located between Sewri and South Mumbai, will provide the city with many tourist-friendly amenities such as Mumbai Marina, Mumbai Eye (similar to the London Eye), ropeway to Elephanta caves, gardens, cycling tracks, adventure sports, a flamingo eco-park, and seafront leisure activities. The development promises to be the water-tourism-friendly coastline that Mumbai has wished for all these years. It will provide the city with a weekend leisure destination with seamless connectivity to the harbor line, making it ideal for homebuyers looking to live near Byculla.
South Mumbai's upcoming infrastructure projects have advanced the city in several ways. The projects include the construction of a trans-harbor sea link, the Worli Link Bridge, and several others. All these developments are expected to improve the city's connectivity, accessibility, and tourist industry, and thus the general development and way of life in the area.
